E70: No Means Why & How Do I?

E70:

We all hear no everyday but it’s how we perceive that answer and response with actions that defines who achieves and who doesn’t. You can’t make a living doing that, you can’t get a loan for that, you can’t afford it, you can’t ever live that way……. When I hear no I am thinking about WHY they are saying it and HOW I will get around it to continue on my mission.

Let’s talk about the different and sometimes secret ways people say no to us in our creative living journeys. No and yes never mean what we think when we analyze why they are being said and how we can move forward.

In This Episode We Cover

  • No doesn’t mean no, ask why, figure out how

  • Friends and family judgement taken in

  • Network

  • Speaking with others that do what you do often

  • No and Yes are circumstantial, these are arbitrary

  • How can you do it? Why did someone or something say No?

  • The why is important

  • You will always hear no

  • Mentors aren’t always right

  • Good mentors challenge you but don’t stop you

Quotes

“ When someone says no it’s almost like an immediately how am I going to do this, like they didn't’ say anything. When someone builds a little damn in the river its going to pull off in different streams until it goes where it’s going to go, it’s going to go there.” - Host Dave Swillum

“ In real life we know that there are thousands and thousands of people doing it in real life, but if we don’t go out and meet any of them it feels like its a TV show and isn’t possible. We need to network.” - Host Dave Swillum

“You don’t need anything to start anything.” - Host Dave Swillum
